A Theater Thrives in Brooklyn: The Gallery Players 40th Anniversary Gala Tickets and Information
Synopsis
The Gallery Players celebrate their 40th season of producing plays and musicals in Brooklyn with their gala fundraising event, titled A Theater Thrives in Brooklyn. Hosted by Seth Rudetsky, the evening includes the presentation of the Gallery Players' first "Distinguished Alumnus Award" to Tony Award-winning stage, film, and television star Harvey Fierstein. Performers include alumni Michael Hunsaker and Brian Charles Rooney, the cast of The Gallery Players' 2004 production of Hair, and others. Brooklynite and Broadway star Annie Golden is also scheduled to perform. Jamie Markowitz and Terrence McNally are Honorary Chairs for the event.
Schedule of Events:
6:30pm - Cocktails and hors d'oeuvres
7:30pm - Dinner
8:15pm - Entertainment
9:30pm - Presentation of the "Distinguished Alumni Award"
A silent auction takes place throughout the evening and ends at 10:00pm.
Items up for auction include:
~ Harvey Fierstein's personal black leather jacket, given to him for the Las Vegas production of Hairspray. The jacket is embroidered on the inside pocket with a Hairspray logo and Harvey's name.
~ Autographed scripts by Terrence McNally
~ Ticket and merchandise package from the Blue Man Group
~ Restaurant and spa gift certificates
~ Artwork by Brooklyn artists
