The Guggenheim Museum has announced the lineup of events for the spring season of the institution’s Works & Process season.

Made in Naples (February 7-8), a new piece from Tony Award nominee Karole Armitage, is inspired by the Neapolitan character Pulcinella. The piece will feature sets by Karen Kilimnik inspired by Tiepolo’s drawings and costumes by Alba Clemente based on the Commedia dell’Arte tradition.

The series will feature a presentation of excerpts from Icarus at the Edge of Time (April 25-26), a work developed by composer Philip Glass, renowned physicist Brian Greene, art duo Al and Al, Tony Award winning playwright David Henry Hwang and Artistic Director of London’s Southbank Centre Jude Kelly. This Guggenheim offering precedes the piece’s world premiere at Lincoln Center which is scheduled for next June.

Other dance events that are part of the spring Works & Process season include performances from dance icon Frederic Franklin (January 10-11) and Damian Woetzel (January 24), as well as offerings from Paris Opera Ballet (February 14-15), American Ballet Theatre (May 9-10), Pacific Northwest Ballet (May 14-15), and New York City Ballet (May 23-24). The series will be rounded out with musical offerings from Hèctor Parra (March 11), Ilya and Emilia Kabakov (April 11-12) and Karlheinz Stockhausen (May 2-3).
