Winners of the 44th annual Henry Hewes Design Awards have been announced. The awards will be presented by Scott Pask, Clint Ramos, Natasha Katz and Kevin Cunningham -- all of whom were 2007 honorees -- at a luncheon at Sardi's on Friday, December 12.

Marc Wendland took the award for scenic design for his work on Next to Normal (Second Stage), Richard III (Classic Stage Company) and Unconditional (Labyrinth Theater Company). Katrina Lindsay won for her costume design for Les Liaisons Dangereuses (Roundabout Theatre Company). Donald Holder won for his lighting of Cyrano de Bergerac, Les Liaisons Dangereuses (Roundabout Theatre Company) and South Pacific (Lincoln Center Theater). Jim Findlay and Jeff Sugg took the prize for Notable Effects (Projection Design) for their work in The Slug Bearers of Kayrol Island (Vineyard Theatre).

95 theater artists were nominated for outstanding artistry in 62 productions presented during the 2007-2008 New York theater season. This year's nominating committee includes theater critics Jeffrey Eric Jenkins, chair; TheaterMania's managing editor, Dan Bacalzo; David Barbour; David Cote; Tish Dace; Glenda Frank; Mario Fratti; and Joan Ungaro.
