Sherrie Austin, Soara Joye-Ross, Sheri Sanders, and Robin Skye will be featured in a staged reading of the new musical, Secrets of Songwriting, based on a story by Randi Michaels Block, and featuring book by Michael Aman, lyrics by Aman and Block, and music by Block. AMAS will present the free-to-the-public event at Ripley-Grier Studios, 10th Floor, on Thursday, November 12 at 6pm, and Friday, November 13 at 3pm and 7pm.
The piece explores the friendships and music of four diverse women who are singer/songwriters. Each has her own musical style: Timothi (rock), Eve (pop), Rachel (jazz and R&B), and Kristi (country). Michael Bush will direct, with musical direction by Steven Ray Watkins.
