Film star Johnny Depp, who played the title role in the big-screen version of Sweeney Todd, has been named People magazine's "Sexiest Man Alive" for 2009. The actor previously received the same honor in 2003.
Depp received Oscar nominations as Best Actor for Sweeney Todd, as well as Finding Neverland and Pirates of the Caribbean. He will next be seen as The Mad Hatter in Tim Burton's new film version of Alice in Wonderland.
The magazine's new issue also spotlights numerous other men, including Tony Award nominee Matthew Morrison (who is pictured with Glee castmates Cory Monteith and Mark Salling), as well as stage veterans Bradley Cooper, Hugh Laurie, Adam Lambert, Chris Pine, and Usher.
