The Dreamscape Theatre will present the world premiere of Ricardo Perez Gonzales' In Fields Where They Lay, about the famed Christmas Truce of World War I, at the Hudson Guild Theatre, December 11-January 2. Brad Raimondo developed and will direct the production.

The play is a portrait of a squad of front-line British soldiers who, with their German counterparts, shook hands, shared cigarettes and sang Christmas carols together in the brief, precious interruption in fighting that occurred on December 24 and 25, 1914. The piece was developed from diaries, letters and newspaper accounts of the time.

The cast will include Zack Calhoon, Pete Forester, Billy Griffin, Carl Hendrick Louis, Alan McNaney, Jared Sampson, Michael Swartz, and Morgan Anne Zipf. The creative team will include Kacie Hultgren (scenic design), Wilburn Bonnell (lighting), Joanne Haas (costumes), Geoffrey Roecker (sound), and Anna Ebbesen (musical director).
