(© Joseph Marzullo/Retna) | Drowsy Chaperone co-star Georgia Engel will join the show's Tony Award-winning co-authors Lisa Lambert and Greg Morrison to help launch 50 Awesome Ways Kids Can Help Animals, a new book by PETA president Ingrid E. Newkirk, at noon on Friday, November 10 at Barnes & Noble Lincoln Triangle (Broadway and 66th Street). The trio will perform two quirky original songs based on the book's content at this free event.
Engel has previously appeared on Broadway in Hello, Dolly!, My One and Only, and The Boys from Syracuse. She is best known for playing Georgette Baxter on the CBS sitcom The Mary Tyler Moore Show and had recurring roles on the hit sitcoms Coach and Everybody Loves Raymond. She is currently providing the voice of Bobbie in the hit film Open Season.
In addition to their Tony Award for Best Score of a Musical, Lambert and Morrison received Drama Desk Awards for Outstanding Music and Outstanding Lyrics. The Drowsy Chaperone marks their Broadway debut.
