(© Joseph Marzullo/WENN) | Emmy Award-winner Megan Mullally has joined Starz's comedy series Party Down, according to published reports.
Mullally is slated to play a middle-aged refugee from an unhappy marriage who leaves small town life to move to Hollywood where her 13-year-old daughter hopes to make it as an actress. Production on the second season of the series begins in mid-September and the premiere is tentatively scheduled for April.
Mullally is currently appearing in Adam Bock's The Receptionist at the Odyssey Theatre. Her Broadway credits include Young Frankenstein, Grease, and How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying. She is best known for her work as Karen Walker on NBC's Will & Grace and recently starred in ABC's short-lived sitcom In the Motherhood.
