Angela Lansbury, Rosie O’Donnell, Chita Rivera, et al. Set for Bea Arthur Memorial

Celebrating Bea Arthur, a public memorial to the late actress, will be held at 1pm on Monday, September 14 at the Majestic Theatre.

The event, to be directed by Mark Waldrop, will be hosted by Angela Lansbury, and feature remembrances and performances by Adrienne Barbeau, Zoe Caldwell, Billy Goldenberg, Sheldon Harnick, Charlie Hauck, Norman Lear, Clinton Leupp (aka Miss Coco Peru), Rue McClanhan, Anne Meara and Jerry Stiller, Rosie O’Donnell, Chita Rivera, and Daryl Roth.

Arthur died on April 25 at age 86. She won the Tony Award for Mame; appeared in such Broadway shows as Plain and Fancy, Fiddler on the Roof, and Bea Arthur on Broadway; and was best known for her work on the television shows Maude and The Golden Girls.

The public will be admitted to the memorial on a first-come, first-served basis.
