The Atlantic Theater Company has announced its 2010-2011 season, which will take place in various venues due to the renovation of the company’s main stage home at the Linda Gross Theater.

This 25th anniversary season will begin with the world premiere of Lucy Thurber’s Bottom of the World (September 3-October 3) at Atlantic Stage 2, to be directed by Caitriona McLaughlin. In it, a woman delves into the world of her deceased sister’s final novel.

A double-bill of Harold Pinter one-acts, The Collection & A Kind of Alaska will be presented at Classic Stage Company, November 3-December 21. In the first, a 4am phone call and a surprise visitor set off a series of conversations about potential infidelities among two couples. In the second, a middle-aged woman who has been asleep in a hospital room awakens after 30 years and must reorient herself to a greatly changed world.

David Auburn’s world premiere adaptation of Langdon Mitchell’s 1906 comedy The New York Idea will be seen at the Lucille Lortel Theatre, January 6-February 13. The piece is a look at social mores, status, and attitudes about sex and divorce in upper crust New York.

Atlantic will co-produce Ethan Coen’s world premiere, Four Pickups with St. Ann’s Warehouse, in April/May 2011, with specific dates at St. Ann’s DUMBO location to be announced. Neil Pepe will direct these four short plays that are centered around pickup trucks.

The season will conclude with the 10X25 One-Act Festival, to be held at Atlantic Stage 2, May 18-June 26. The event will reunite a who’s who of Atlantic alumni playwrights, directors and actors who have participated in Atlantic productions during its 25 year history. Confirmed playwrights include Leslie Ayvazian, Annie Baker, Stephen Belber, Bekah Brunstetter, Moira Buffini, Kia Corthron, Tom Donaghy, John Guare, Peter Hedges, Kevin Heelan, Tina Howe, Craig Lucas, David Mamet, Peter Parnell, Keith Reddin, Kate Robin, Kate Moira Ryan, Eddie Sanchez, Lucy Thurber, and Jeff Whitty.
