Gretchen Mol has joined ABC's upcoming series Life on Mars, according to TVGuide.com. The show, which is adapted from the BBC series of the same name, will star Jason O'Mara as a modern-day cop transplanted to 1972, alongside Harvey Keitel, Michael Imperioli, and Jonathan Murphy.

Mol starred Off-Broadway in The Shape of Things. O'Mara has worked extensively in theater in Ireland and London, including celebrated productions of The Jew of Malta, Popcorn, The Homecoming, and Bash.

Keitel has appeared on Broadway in Death of a Salesman and Hurlyburly and played the title role earlier this year in the Carnegie Hall presentation of Jerry Springer-The Opera. Imperioli is a co-founder of the Off-Broadway theater Studio Dante and has appeared in or directed many of their productions. He is best known for his work as Christopher on The Sopranos and previously starred on Law & Order. Murphy most recently appeared on the TV series October Road.
