Bruce Adler, who received Tony Award nominations for his work in Crazy For You and Those Were the Days, has died at age 63, according to published reports. He had been battling liver cancer.

Adler, the son of actors Julius Adler and Henrietta Jacobsen, began his career as a child in the Yiddish theater. He appeared in numerous Broadway shows including the 1979 revival of Oklahoma!, Oh, Brother!, and Broadway; he also played the roles of Dennis and Franz in the 1994 concert version of Sunday in the Park With George. Most recently, he appeared in New York in the York Theatre's Enter Laughing.

Adler also worked extensively in regional theater in such shows as Fiddler on the Roof, Guys and Dolls, and Me and My Girl, and performed in nightclubs and benefits.

He is survived by his wife Amy London, and their son Jacob.

RE: Actor Bruce Adler Dies at 63

It was with enormous shock and sadness that I just read of the passing of Bruce Adler--the consummate performer who always provided enormous JOY with his multi-talented, super performances. Annette Zelenetz
