Kate Shindle will play the title role in Sympathy Jones at this year's New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF). The show will play the Julia Miles Theatre September 24 - October 4.
Written by Masi Asare (music and lyrics) and Brooke Pierce (book), the musical tells the story of an overqualified receptionist at a prestigious intelligence agency who dreams of becoming a super spy. It will be directed by Sarah Gurfield and choreographed by Christine O'Grady.
Shindle is currently starring in Legally Blonde on Broadway. Additional Broadway credits include Cabaret and Jekyll & Hyde. Additional NYC theater credits include A Midsummer Night's Dream, The Woman Upstairs and the World AIDS Day Concerts of Children of Eden, Pippin and The Secret Garden. She is also known for winning the Miss America pageant in 1998.
