Works by Anthony Rapp, Richard Seff, Chip Zien, et al. Among of NYMF’s Invited Musical Selections

The New York Musical Theatre Festival (NYMF) has announced the 11 musicals that have been invited to be presented alongside the 12 previously announced Next Link Project productions. This year’s festival will be presented September 27 – October 17 at venues around Manhattan.

Among the invited productions are Without You, a one man show by Anthony Rapp that features music and lyrics by Jonathan Larson; The History of War, which features a book by Chip Zien, music by Deborah Abramson and lyrics by Amanda Yesnowitz; Shine! The Horatio Alger Musical, with book by Richard Seff, music by Roger Dean Anderson and lyrics by Lee Goldsmith; and Trails, which has a book by Christy Hall, music by Jeff Thomson and lyrics by Jordan Mann.

Other invited works are Bloodties by Ned Massey, Fingers and Toes by Logan Medland, Show Choir! – The Musical by Donald Garverick and Mark McDaniels, Nighttime Traffic by Alex Wyse, and Vote for Me: A Musical Debate by Scott Elmegreen and Drew Fornarola, as well as Pandora’s Box, book by Maria S. Schlatter, music and lyrics by Glen Roven, based on the film Gazon Maudit; and Trav’lin, book by Allan Shapiro and Gary Holmes, music and lyrics by J.C. Johnson and friends.

NYMF will announce the festival’s Developmental Reading Series and other special events in the upcoming weeks.
