Daniel Beaty will bring his new solo show Through the Night to the Riverside Theatre, May 4-23, with an official opening on May 7.

Charles Randolph-Wright will direct the production, which will feature scenic, lighting, and projection design by Alexander Nichols and original music by Lindsay Jones. The piece was performed earlier this year at the Crossroads Theatre in New Jersey and the Geffen Playhouse in Los Angeles.

In the piece, Beaty plays six interconnected African-American males ranging, as well as the people who love them. A special addition to the production will be dialogues with Beaty and prominent guests after each performance. Opening night will feature actor Bill Cosby, and other celebrities set to appear include Ruby Dee, Hill Harper, and Malik Yoba.

Beaty’s other work includes Resurrection and Emergence-SEE!, for which he won an Obie Award.
