Eric Clem, Kristin Griffith, Brian Gerard Murray, and Evan Thompson will star in New Georges' world premiere of Stretch (a fantasia), by Susan Bernfield, with music by Rachel Peters. Emma Griffin will direct the production, which will play The Living Theater, May 2-26, with an opening on May 5.
The play imagines the final days of Rose Mary Woods, Richard M. Nixon's longtime loyal secretary, as she observes the presidential election of 2004 from a nursing home in the swing state of Ohio.
The creative team will include Jo Winiarski (set), Jessica Trejos (costumes), Raquel Davis (lighting), and Jessica Paz (sound).
Bernfield is the artistic director of New Georges. Her previous plays include Barking Girl, Shelter, Out From Under It, Tracy Petunia, and Nice Chair. Griffin is the artistic director of Salt Theater. Her directing credits include Five Course Love, Removable, Zippo Songs, and Stage Door
