Chuck Cooper (Polonius), Susan Hart (Gertrude), and Patrick Page (Claudius) have been added to the line-up of The Shakespeare Theatre Company's Hamlet, joining the previously announced Jeffrey Carlson as Hamlet, Michelle Beck as Ophelia, and Dakin Matthews as the Ghost of Hamlet's father, First Player, and Gravedigger. The show will serve as the company's annual Free For All offering at Carter Barron Amphitheatre, May 22-June 1.
Originally directed by Artistic Director Michael Kahn as part of the 2006-2007 season, the production will be restaged by Alexander Burns.
Started in 1991 to bring Shakespeare to new and diverse audiences in the Washington metropolitan area, the Free For All has presented Shakespeare under the stars to more than 500,000 area residents.
