Full Cast Set for Kennedy Center's Mame

Full casting has been announced for the Kennedy Center's upcoming production of Jerry Herman's Mame, which will run May 27-July 2. Directed by Eric Schaefer, the show will open officially on June 1.

As previously announced, the production will star Christine Baranski as Mame Dennis, Harriet Harris as Vera Charles, Emily Skinner as Agnes Gooch, Max von Essen as the adult Patrick Dennis, Jeff MCarthy as Beauregard Jackson Pickett Burnside, and Alan Muraoka as Ito.

The show wil also star Harrison Chad as Young Patrick, Ed Dixon as Lindsay Woolsey/Uncle Jeff, Ruth Gotschall as Doris Upson/Madame B, Mary Stout as Mother Burnside, and Harry A. Winter as Claude Upson.

The ensemble will featur Ethan Langsdorf-Willoughby, Joe Paparella,Michael Buchanan, James Patterson, Dennis Kenney, Chad Schiro, Parker Esse, Shane Braddock, Jeremy Benton,Sean McKnight, Clark Johnson, Susan Derry, Tory Ross, Sarah Jane Everman, Alison Cimmet, Suzanne Hylenski, Melissa Rae Mahon, Laura Taylor, Kelly Kohnert, Kira Schmidt, Megan Hart, Kevin Worley, and Erin Crouch. Amy McWilliams will be the standby for Baranski and Harris.

The show's creative team includes Walt Spangler (set design), Gregg Barnes (costume design), Ken Billington (lighting design), and Peter Hylenski (sound design).

Based on the play Auntie Mame, by Jerome Lawrence and Robert E. Lee, Mame follows the whirlwind adventures of an unconventional woman and her nephew with a rogue's gallery of memorable characters. The musical opened on Broadway in 1966 and ran for more than 1,500 performances. It was nominated for eight Tony Awards; actors Angela Lansbury, Beatrice Arthur, and Frankie Michaels won the trophies. A 1983 revival, also starring Lansbury, was short-lived.
