Tony Award winner Donna Murphy will be featured in the movie The Nanny Diaries, set to begin filming in New York City this month. She will play Judy Braddock, a middle-class woman from New Jersey whose daughter (played by Scarlett Johannson) goes to work as a nanny for a wealthy Upper East Side family. Adapted from Nicola Kraus' best-selling novel, the film will also star Laura Linney, Paul Giamatti, and Chris Evans. It will be directed by Shari Springer Berman and Robert Pulcini.

Murphy has recently completed two other films: Oliver Stone's star-studded World Trade Center and Darren Aronofsky's The Fountain, starring Hugh Jackman, Rachel Weisz, and Ellen Burstyn. She will also be seen in the upcoming NBC TV series Studio 60: Live on the Sunset Strip.

The actress won her Tony Awards for The King and I and Passion. She was most recently seen on Broadway in Wonderful Town, for which she received a Tony nomination and won the Drama Desk and Outer Critics Circle awards. In addition, Murphy can be heard on the new CD Wall to Wall Sondheim.
