Zachary James, Bruce Warren et al. Set for Metropolis Opera Project’s One Act Festival

Participants have been announced for Metropolis Opera Project’s second annual one-act festival, to be held at Medicine Show Theatre, April 8-10.

The program will feature Tony Award winner Sheldon Harnick’s rarely performed Frustration, as well as world premiere productions of The Nightingale and the Rose by Benjamin Scheuer, Obesa Cantavit: The Tale Of A Music Legend And The Sandwich Who Loved Her by Larry Lees, and Crossing the Straits by Christopher Sahar.

The four operas will be directed by David Chapman, Audrey Ellis, Zachary James and Dontee Kiehn. Featured performers will include Bruce Warren, Joe Jung, Jendi Tarde, and Constantine Germanacos.

The company will also include J. David Anderson, Nathan Baer, Michael Bowen, Jessica Bowers, Eddie Cooper, Tiffany Engen, Claire Epstein, Karla Faggard, Catherine Freeman, Danny Gardner, Nicole Intravia, Alex Krasser, Adam Lendermon, Amanda Morton, Megan Nelson and Bryan Plofsky, with musicians Adam Bloniarz, Kiersten Cunningham and Aaron Kotler.

The design team will include Adrianna Desier Durantt, Tamara Kopko, Pat Marcus and Dotty Petersen.
