Hank Azaria, Kathryn Hahn, Cherry Jones, Elizabeth Perkins Cast in Pilots

Stage veterans Hank Azaria and Kathryn Hahn have landed the lead in NBC’s single-camera comedy pilot Free Agents, according to Deadline.com.

The romantic comedy, based on the UK series of the same name, explores the attraction between two quirky PR executives working together who both are on the rebound from romance.

Azaria received a Tony Award nomination for Monty Python’s Spamalot and starred in The Farnsworth Invention. Hahn co-starred in the award-winning revival of Boeing Boeing.

Deadline is also reporting that two-time Tony Award winner Cherry Jones is joining the cast of NBC’s pilot REM, as the psychiatrist of Jason Isaacs’ character. Jones won Tony Awards for The Heiress and Doubt, as well as an Emmy Award for her work on 24.

In addition, the website has reported that Elizabeth Perkins, who appeared in the Broadway production of Brighton Beach Memoirs, will co-star in the CBS comedy pilot Vince Uncensored, Perkins will play Janet, the wife of Vince (Michael Chiklis), a family man who experiences a medical problem and starts to speak the truth and live in the moment much to the chagrin of his family. The actress is best known for her work on Showtime’s Weeds.
