Roger Allam, Oliver Cotton, Jamie Parker, et al. Set for Shakespeare Globe’s Henry IV

Casting has been announced for Shakespeare’s Globe‘s production of Henry IV Part 1 (June 5-October 2) and Henry IV Part 2 (July 3-October 3).

The production, to be directed by Dominic Dromgoole, will star Roger Allam (Falstaff), Oliver Cotton (Henry IV), Jamie Parker (Prince Hal), William Gaunt (Worcester/Justice Shallow), Christopher Godwin (Northumberland/Silence), Sean Kearns (Glendower/Bullcolt/Warwick), Paul Rider (Bardolf/Scroop), and Jade Williams (Lady Mortimer/Doll Tearsheet).

The season, which has the title Kings and Rogues, will open with Lucy Bailey’s production of Macbeth (April 23-June 27), which will star Elliot Cowan in the title role and Laura Rogers as Lady Macbeth. It will be followed by Mark Rosenblatt’s production of Henry VIII (May 15-August 21) starring Dominic Rowan, and a revival of Christopher Luscombe’s 2008 staging of The Merry Wives of Windsor (August 14 -October 2).

The Globe will also present two new plays: Howard Brenton’s Anne Boleyn (July 24-August 21), which will be directed by John Dove; and Nell Leyshon’s Bedlam (September 5-October 1), a fictional portrayal of a London hospital for the insane.
