Revised casting has been announced for the one-night-only stage adaptation of the 1967 film Valley of the Dolls, to be offered on March 15 at the Gerald W. Lynch Theatre at John Jay College. Carl Andress will direct the performance, which is a fundraiser for The Actors Fund.

Based on Jacqueline Susann’s bestselling novel, Valley of the Dolls follows the lives of three women — naive New Englander Anne Welles, aspiring singer Neely O’Hara, and buxom beauty Jennifer North — as they attempt to achieve fame and fortune in show business.

In addition to the previously announced performers Charles Busch (Helen Lawson), Heidi Blickenstaff (Neely O’Hara), Tovah Feldshuh (Miriam Polar) and Martha Plimpton (Anne Welles), the cast will include Nancy Anderson (Jennifer North), Hunter Bell (Ted Casablanca and Mel), Craig Bierko (Lyon Burke), Julie Halston (Miss Steinberg and others), Troy Britton Johnson (Tony Polar), Julia Murney (The Singer), Brad Oscar (Mr. Bellamy and others) and Ed Watts (Kevin Gilmore and others). Previously announced stars Cheyenne Jackson and Christopher Sieber have withdrawn from the benefit due to scheduling conflicts.
