Danny Glover, Whoopi Goldberg, Phylicia Rashad, Stew, and More Set for Breaking the Silence, Beating the Drum

Stacyann Chin, Danny Glover, Whoopi Goldberg, Bill T. Jones, Sarah Jones, Phylicia Rashad, Liev Schreiber, and Stew are among the theatrical luminaries participating in The Culture Project’s special one-night-only theatrical concert event, Breaking The Silence, Beating The Drum, to be presented on the floor of the United Nations’ General Assembly Hall, on March 25.

The event is presented in conjunction with ‘International Day of Remembrance of the Victims of Slavery and the Transatlantic Slave Trade,’ marking the 200th anniversary of the abolition of the transatlantic slave trade, and the widespread abuses of human trafficking.

Additional performers will include Cameroon Drummers, Ban Ki Moon/Father D’Escoto, Blind Boys of Alabama, Gilbert Gil, Carl Lewis, Ky-Mani Marley with Nile Rogers, Angela Brown, Salife Keita/Toumani Diabate, Audrey Babcock with Daisy Jopling, Gabri Christa Troupe, Emeline Michele, Akon/Peter Buffet, Lenelle Moise, Izaline Calister, Noah Stewart/Lester Lynch, Salif Keita, and The Impact Theatre Group.
