Harvey Fierstein to Host 74th Annual Drama League Awards

Tony Award winner Harvey Fierstein will host the 74th Annual Drama League Awards, to be held at noon on Friday, May 16 at the Marriott Marquis Hotel. This year's honorary co-chairs are actors Bobby Cannavale, Cheyenne Jackson, S. Epatha Merkerson, Rosie Perez, Martha Plimpton, and Patrick Stewart.

At the luncheon, awards will be bestowed for Distinguished Performance, Distinguished Production of a Play, Distinguished Production of a Musical, Distinguished Revival of a Play, and Distinguished Revival of a Musical. Nominations will be announced on Tuesday, April 22.

Fierstein is a previous winner of the Distinguished Performance Award, which is only presented once in a lifetime to a performer, for his work in Hairspray. He will return to Broadway this month as the co-star and co-author of the musical A Catered Affair. Other past winners include Liev Schreiber, Rosemary Harris, Sir Ian McKellen, Cherry Jones, and Christine Ebersole.
