 | | David Alan Grier | David Alan Grier, who received a Tony Award nomination for his portrayal of baseball great Jackie Robinson in the Broadway musical The First, will be one of 13 celebrity contestants on the upcoming season of ABC's reality show Dancing With the Stars, which will debut on March 9. The show is hosted by Tom Bergeron and Samantha Harris.
The other contestants will be pop singers Jewel and Belinda Carlisle, Olympic athlete Shawn Johnson, R&B singer Lil' Kim, actor Gilles Marini, rodeo cowboy Ty Murray, comedian Steve-O, entertainment anchor Nancy O'Dell, actress Denise Richards, NFL legend Lawrence Taylor, country singer Chuck Wicks, and entrepreneur Steve Wozniak.
Grier also starred on Broadway in Dreamgirls and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum. His many film and television credits include Streamers, In Living Color, Damon, and The Bonnie Hunt Show.
