 | | Audra McDonald | Audra McDonald will play the remaining two performances of her American Songbook concert engagement this weekend as scheduled.
The four-time Tony Award winner will perform tonight and tomorrow, January 7 and 8, at 8pm. What was to have been the opening performance of the concert last evening was canceled yesterday afternoon when McDonald was sidelined by a severe intestinal flu.
The concert in the Rose Theater at the Time Warner Center (Broadway at 60th Street) celebrates the work of such contemporary pop composers as Elvis Costello, Laura Nyro, James Taylor, Paul Simon, Stevie Wonder, and Prince. The program also includes songs by Michael John LaChiusa, Adam Guettel, and other musical theater composers. Ted Sperling is the concert's musical director.
