WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Lincoln Center presents Tonya Pinkins: A Harold Arlen Tribute. The Tony Award-winner for Jelly's Last Jam and Tony-nominated actress for her recent stunning performance in Caroline, or Change, Tonya Pinkins brings her star power to the memorable songs of Harold Arlen in this tribute to the songwriter's centenary. She'll apply her stirring vocal style to Arlen tunes such as "The Man That Got Away," "That Old Black Magic," "I've Got the World on a String," and "My Shining Hour," following in the footsteps of African-American singers like Lena Horne and Ethel Waters who popularized Arlen's work with signature renditions of many of his songs.
