WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
With stories, scenes, and music, Readings to Renew: A Tribute to New Orleans offers samples from the provocative culture of New Orleans. The dramatic stories, which are directed by Christopher Cartmill, were first presented at the Culture Project's Impact Festival last summer. In addition, the evening includes footage of Jonathan Demme's in-progress documentary on New Orleans and photos by Arnold Roufa, Susanna Styron and Lilah Larsen. A Louisiana Jam is presented live in the Riverspace Café following the performances. Proceeds benefit the New Orleans' Lusher Elementary School.
