WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Richard Simmons hosts Broadway Bears IV, a one-night only auction to benefit Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS. Lorna Kelly serves as auctioneer. 42 one-of-a-kind bears -- each dressed in original, handmade costumes representing some of the theater's most legendary characters -- are put up for auction. Many bears are autographed by the stars they represent, including Carol Channing in Hello, Dolly!, Elaine Strich in Company, Sherie Rene Scott in Aida, Michael Crawford in The Phantom of the Opera, and Chita Rivera in Bye Bye Birdie.
