New York Stage and Film and Vassar College have announced the four workshops that will make up the upcoming 30th year of their Powerhouse Theater collaboration, running from June 20 to July 27 at Vassar College.

The season's workshops will include two musicals and two plays. The first musical workshop will focus on SeaWife by Seth Moore and The Lobbyists (June 27-29). Directed by and developed with Liz Carlson, SeaWife follows Percy, a young sailor bred in the golden age of the American whaling boom. Paul Scott Goodman and Pamela Gray's A Walk on the Moon will be the season's second musical workshop (July 25-27). This romantic story of awakening, based on the film, will be directed by Michael Greif (Rent, Next to Normal).

Hannah Bos and Paul Thureen's new play, The Light Years, directed and developed by Oliver Butler will be the season's first play workshop (July 11–13). The work is a haunted love story spanning four decades. The second will be a workshop of Beth Henley's Laugh (July 18-20). Directed by David Schweizer, the play is a slapstick comedy from the Pulitzer Prize-winning playwright of Crimes of the Heart and The Jacksonian.

The three mainstage productions of the 30th Powerhouse Theater Season are The Babylon Line by Richard Greenberg, from June 26-July 6; In Your Arms, a collaboration with 10 playwrights (Douglas Carter Beane, Nilo Cruz, Christopher Durang, Carrie Fisher, David Henry Hwang, Rajiv Joseph, Terrence McNally, Marsha Norman, Lynn Nottage, and Alfred Uhry), from July 5-13; and The Danish Widow, written and directed by John Patrick Shanley, from July 16-27. Full programming will be announced at a later date.
