Downtown Diva Yana Chupenko returns to The Zipper for her first solo cabaret act - expect the unexpected as Yana showcases a voice that tears into everything from Streisand to Judas Priest. A Soviet refugee and punk metal goddess, Yana fronted one of the first all-girl hardcore bands, PMS (Pre-Metal Syndrome), the seminal thrash-metal band Wench and her most recent hard rock outfit, Shiny Mama, all of which released full-length albums. She has appeared at The Zipper previously in Lady, Lady, Lady. She has also appeared in Cathy Cervenka's annual Madonnathon and Love Bites, Adam Dugas' Chaos & Candy and Vernal Hoodoo, and is an alumnus of Don Hill's Bitch. Yana's band includes Nick Demopoulos (Music Director/Guitar/Programming); Kyle Forester (Piano/Keyboards); Terence Murren (Bass); Michael Denarie (Metal Guitar) and Jason Ewald (Drums).
