WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Singer/Composer/Pianist Marc McBarron Kessler performs his original, cutting-edge music in an exclusive concert Upstairs at Rose's Turn. With just a piano and plenty of stories to tell, Kessler sings his heart on his sleeve with a rare and refreshing candor akin to poets Bob Dylan and Sylvia Plath.
Ever-rebellious Kessler is the torchbearer of original music happy hour at legendary piano bar Marie's Crisis, entertaining even the most jaded audiences with his lyrical sincerity and passionate piano playing. Open as a diary, alarmingly personal, Kessler possesses a quirky blend of vulnerability and ferocity, inspiring Time Out NY to say, "Kessler is an artist to watch! His brave honest songs are much more than the pop flavor of the month. If John Mayer ever wanted to do cabaret, he might sound just a little like this young performer."
Alain Boublil, creator of the Broadway music Les Miserables, calls Kessler, "Bold and exciting."
