WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

Tony Award nominee Karen Akers returns to the Oak Room with her new show Move On, directed by Eric Michael Gilllett and featuring musical direction by Don Rebic. The show will include Stephen Sondheim's "The Glamorous Life," Cole Porter's "Down in the Depths," Rodgers & Hart's "This Funny World," Lynn Ahrens and Stephen Flaherty's "I Was Here," and Maury Yeston's "Move On."

Karen Akers' new show Move On, which has just begun a five-week residence at the Algonquin Hotel's Oak Room, is perhaps the most personal one of her long and distinguished career. With carefully chosen songs that she has wedded to her acting skills, she presents an evening full of emotional resilience built upon her considerable artistry.
