WHAT IS IT ABOUT?
Jowee Omicil is a native of Montreal Canada with roots from Haiti. His new CD Roots & Grooves is a compilation of brilliant compositions, exceptional fusion of sounds, an amalgam of gospel, hip-hop, jazz, twoubadou, blues, ciwell that Jowee even infiltrates the Vedic times of Indian classical music with a wide variety of African rhythms...
An Alumnus of Berklee School of Music, Jowee plays the alto, soprano and tenor saxophones along with the flute and clarinet. In his quest for musical freedom and perfection, he attended the Thelonious Monk Institute and as a music educator, he developed curriculum for charter schools and enjoys teaching.
Jowee Omicil brings a complete package to the world, hence the Creole statement: "tout moun jwenn" that translates into "Everyone gets some."
