WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

"...delightfully sharp and entertaining. It's a clever work from an appealing, multi-talented performer." - William Wolf, Wolf Entertainment Guide

Join Donna as she lets the cat out of the bag and prowls for young bucks in this funny, new - and sexy - musical exploration of the phenomenon of older women and younger men.

"...a fantastic, entertaining hour of great cabaret." - Stu Hamstra, Cabaret Hotline

'Cougar' is an older woman who seeks the pleasurable company of younger men. "I view it as a metaphor for female empowerment," explains Donna Moore. "She is a woman who has overcome sexual taboos and now lives her life to the fullest." It is a growing phenomenon where the number of mature women with younger men has soared with such bold-faced couples as Demi Moore and Ashton Kutcher, Courtney Cox and David Arquette, Madonna and Guy Richie and longtime companions Susan Sarandon and Tim Robbins.

Moore uses her experiences as a child performer on the popular children's TV series Zoom, her life as a single mother to two teenage daughters, and her discovery about being a 'cougar' after her divorce as a backdrop for spiritual awakening in The Cougar Cabaret which displays her development into a confident, adult woman whose mature beauty and brains are magnets for young hunks in their 20's. "It's fun and exciting. I'm having the ride of my life!"

"Merry", "Amusing" with Moore "a facile and versatile actress..." - Cabaret Scenes

The Cougar Cabaret features original music and comedy by a top-flight team. Director Robert Brink has directed extensively in regional theaters from Maine to Seattle and for two years served as Resident Director at the Barter Theatre in Virginia. Overseas he has staged productions in England and Ireland and in New York City he has numerous Off Broadway stage credits at the Pearl Theatre, American Place Theatre, York Theatre and many others.

Composer Mark Barkan is an established composer who has written or co-written over 500 recorded songs and has had hits by such diversified artists as Nat King Cole, Connie Francis, Manfred Mann, Leslie Gore and Dusty Springfield. His one Broadway credit is the song "Weddings and Funerals" for Melvin Van Peebles' Waltz of the Stork. He has many movie and T.V. credits as a composer/lyricist including the title song for the Doris Day starrer, Do Not Disturb, songs in three Elvis Presley movies and "The Tra La La Song" for the hit cartoon series The Banana Splits.

"a show that leaves you chuckling and wanting more of this vivacious entertainer" - Richmond Shepard - lively-arts.com
