WHAT IS IT ABOUT?

With Cole Plays Gershwin, virtuoso pianist Kevin Cole offers a charming performance of the timeless music of American master George Gershwin.

George Gershwin was born Jacob Gershovitz in Brooklyn in 1898, the son of Russian Jewish immigrants, and went on to become a national treasure, composing such classics as "I Got Rhythm," "Someone to Watch Over Me," and the immortal Rhapsody in Blue.

Kevin Cole is renowned for his performances of 20th century American music. The Chicago Tribune has called him the best Gershwin pianist in America today and states that "When Cole sits down at the piano you would swear Gershwin himself was at work." His recent symphonic engagements include sold-out appearances with the Los Angeles Philharmonic at the Hollywood Bowl, Philharmonia Ochestra in London, Chicago Symphony, San Francisco Symphony, Boston Philharmonic, and the BBC Concert Orchestra.
