Tony Award winner Kristin Chenoweth and Tony nominee Christina Applegate will guest star on American Idol Carrie Underwood's holiday special for FOX TV, according to a report on RadarOnline.com. Adam Shankman directs the two-hour variety show, which is set to air on December 7.

On the program, the country music singer will perform previous hits, holiday classics, and songs from her newest album, Play On, and perform in comedy sketches. Other special guests include Dolly Parton, Brad Paisley, and David Cook.

Chenoweth performed one of Underwood's hits, "Last Name," when she appeared earlier this season on the FOX drama Glee.
