Ferrera, Leo, O'Nan to Star in American Tragic Film

America Ferrera, Melissa Leo, and Ryan O'Nan will headline the movie American Tragic, written and directed by Ryan Piers Williams, according to Variety.

O'Nan, who is currently starring Off-Broadway in Made in Poland, will play a young war veteran who sets off on a cross-country trip with his buddy. Ferrera, who stars in the title role on ABC's Ugly Betty and appeared Off-Broadway in Dog Sees God will play his wife; she will also be the movie's executive producer. Leo, who won a Drama Desk Award for The Distance From Here, will play his mother.

The film will shoot in New Mexico beginning in February with a projected release for fall 2009.
