John Tartaglia hosted The New 42nd Street Gala at the at the New Victory on Monday, October 17. The event honored Jim Henson Foundation President Cheryl Henson, who received the New Victory Arts Award at the event.
The evening was a celebration of puppetry, and featured appearances or performances from Joey and puppeteers from Broadway’s War Horse; Sesame Street‘s Big Bird and Telly Monster; puppeteer/designer Martin P. Robertson; actress/puppeteer Leslie-Carrara-Rudolph; Joey Arias, directed by Basil Twist; cast members from The Little Prince, which recently wrapped up a run at The New Victory; Heather Henson and IBEX Puppetry; Tony Award winner Bill Irwin; Ralph Lee’s Mettawee River Theatre Company; dancer/choreographer David Neumann; On the Lam Street Band; and the Reduced Shakespeare Company.
Also in attendance were New 42nd Street President Cora Cahan and renowned costume designer Isaac Mizrahi.
