Mary McDonnell, Cotter Smith, David Strathairn et al. Set for Upcoming Epic Theatre Ensemble Events

Epic Theatre Ensemble has announced casting for a reading of Ari Roth’s The Born Guilty Cycle, to be offered on October 17 at 2:30pm at the Museum of Jewish Heritage. Blanka Zizka will direct the performance.

The piece combines Roth’s play Born Guilty, which is based on Peter Sichrovsky’s book of the same name that collects his interviews with the children of Nazis and SS Officers, with the play that Roth wrote as a sequel, The Wolf in Peter. The company will feature Rick Foucheux, David Ingram, Greg Keller, Teri Lamm, Kate Eastwood Norris, Elizabeth Rich, Joel Rooks, and Cotter Smith. A talkback with Roth and Sichorvsky will follow the performance.

The theater has also announced that Melissa Friedman, David Strathairn and James Wallert will reprise their performances in in a reading of Kate Fodor’s Hannah and Martin, to be offered on November 17 at 7pm at the museum. Ron Russell will direct this play that focuses on the relationship between Jewish political theorist Hannah Arendt and her mentor and lover, Martin Heidegger, the renowned philosopher who used his fame and brilliance to help further the goals of the Nazi party.

Along with the news about these two readings, the company has announced that it will honor Len Berkman at its 10th anniversary celebration to be held on Monday, May 2. David Strathairn and Mary McDonnell will co-host the event. Additional details will be announced shortly.
