Nellie McKay, Chita Rivera, Leslie Uggams, Rufus Wainwright, et al. Set for 2010 American Songbook Season

Lincoln Center has announced programming for its American Songbook 2010 season, which will run January 13-March 6.

The season will kick off with a concert by Marianne Faithful on January 13, with highlights also including concerts by Broadway veterans Rebecca Luker (January 14), Martha Plimpton (January 16), Dee Dee Bridgewater (February 17), Nellie McKay (February 18), Leslie Uggams (February 20), Jeanine Tesori (March 5), and Chita Rivera (March 6).

Rufus Wainwright, Bill Frisell, Van Dyke Parks, Marc Anthony Thompson, Roy Nathanson, and Steven Bernstein will come together for celebrated music producer Hal Willner's concert, I Gotta Right to Sing the Blues? (January 27), featuring music and readings from David Lehman's book, A Fine Romance: Jewish Songwriters, American Songs. Broadway veterans Norm Lewis, Michael Esper, and de'Adre Aziza will perform composer/lyricist Michael Friedman's Adventures in Reality (January 30).

Programming will also include David Hidalgo & Louie Perez of Los Lobos (January 15), Suzanne Vega (January 28), St. Vincent (January 29), Dirty Projectors (February 19), Gabriel Kahane (March 3), and Todd Snider (March 4).
