The Jewish Museum (1109 Fifth Avenue) will present a screening of the Emmy Award-winning 1998 documentary Leonard Bernstein: Reaching for the Note at 6:30pm on Thursday, October 16. The event is in conjunction with Bernstein: The Best of All Possible Worlds, a citywide festival celebrating Bernstein's 90th birthday.

The nearly two-hour program, part of PBS' American Master series, incorporates both personal and historical materials to capture the texture and tone of the composer's life. It also includes interviews with such noteworthy figures as Stephen Sondheim, Michael Tilson Thomas, Jerome Robbins, Isaac Stern, Carol Lawrence, Betty Comden, and Adolph Green. The screening will be introduced by Susan Lacy, the film's writer, producer, and director.

The screening is free with museum admission. For more information, call 212-423-3337.
