Arthur Hill Dies at 84

Arthur Hill
Hill was born in Saskatchewan, Canada, and studied at the University of British Columbia. After stints in Seattle and England, he moved to New York. He made his Broadway debut in 1955 as Cornelius Hackl in The Matchmaker. In addition to Virginia Woolf, he later appeared on Broadway in Look Homeward Angel, The Gang's All Here, All the Way Home, and More Stately Mansions. He also starred in the short-lived 1964 musical Something More!
He was well-known for his film and television work, including Harper, Petulia, Rabbit Run, The Andromeda Strain, and the TV series Owen Marshall, Counselor at Law, which ran from 1971 to 1974. Hill retired from acting in the early 1990s.
