On Wednesday night, Lifetime Television hosted a special New York screening of its upcoming biopic Living Proof, which will air on October 18. Oscar winner Renee Zellweger is one of the movie's executive producers.

Tony Award nominee Harry Connick, Jr. stars as Dr. Dennis Slamon, who developed a revolutionary breast cancer drug.

Two-time Tony winner Bernadette Peters appears in the film as Barbara Bradfield.

Amanda Bynes, who played Penny Pingleton in the film version of Hairspray, is another of the movie's illustrious stars.

The legendary Joan Collins gets playful on the red carpet.

Longtime friends Barbara Cook and Harvey Evans attended the premiere together.

On Tuesday night, the eighth annual Hip-Hop Theatre Festival opened at NYU's Skirball Theatre. Here are writer-performer Danny Hoch -- whose solo show Taking Over will move to the Public in November -- with Clyde Valentin and Alan Ket.

On Saturday, September 20, the Elizabeth Glaser Pediatric AIDS Foundation held its 15th annual Kids for Kids Carnival. Among the celebrities in attendance were stage, screen, and television star Lorraine Bracco.
