Zac Efron and Taylor Schilling will star in Scott Hicks' film adaptation of the Nicholas Sparks novel, The Lucky One, about a marine who survived three tours of duty in Iraq and sets out to find a woman in a photograph he carried around.

Efron has starred in the High School Musical series of movies, and played Link Larkin in the movie version of the musical Hairspray. His other film credits include Charlie St. Cloud and Me & Orson Welles.

Schilling appeared in the Bard SummerStage production of Uncle Vanya opposite Peter Dinklage and is best known for her role on the NBC series Mercy.
