On Monday, June 30, The Trevor Project -- an organization that provides around-the-clock crisis and a suicide prevention helpline for gay and questioning youth -- held a gala benefit at The Mandarin Oriental Hotel. Here's one of the evening's honorees, Alan Cumming -- currently starring in Lincoln Center Festival's production of The Bacchae -- with Trevor Project co-founders Peggy Rajski and James Lecesne.

The fabulous Alec Mapa -- who just performed his show America's Gaysian Sweetheart at Joe's Pub -- hosted the event.

Tony winner Idina Menzel, soon to appear in Nero at Vassar College's Powerhouse Theater, performed songs from her new album, I Stand.

Broadway and film star Rosie Perez caught up with another of the evening's entertainers, the hilarious Sandra Bernhard.

Ugly Betty star Michael Urie was on hand for the festivities.

Star Trek's George Takei was in attendance, along with his partner Brad Altman.

Adamo Ruggiero, best known for N's Degrassi: The Next Generation, was one of the evening's presenters.

Here's Eve Ensler, the writer of such important plays as The Vagina Monologues and The Good Body.

Actress Heather Matarazzo, best known for the film Welcome to the Dollhouse, attended with girlfriend Caroline Murphy.

Comic Lisa Lampanelli was among the evening's celebrated guests.

Gideon Glick, one of the original stars of Spring Awakening, was another presenter.

On June 30, Tony winner Christine Ebersole performed at Birdland in conjunction with the release of her new CD Sunday in New York. Here she is with 2008 Tony nominees Daniel Evans and Jenna Russell, who starred in the recently completed revival of Sunday in the Park With George.

Singers Ann Hampton Callaway and Lea DeLaria also stopped by Birdland.

On Friday, June 27, there was a special signing and discussion of Backstage Pass, a new book about the popular Broadway Bares series, at the Barnes & Noble at Lincoln Triangle. Here are Broadway Bares participants Matthew Risch and Michael Curry flanking Tony winner Jerry Mitchell, the book's author.
