Broadway star Will Chase will join the Tony Award-winning Broadway musical Billy Elliot, currently at the Imperial Theatre, as Tony on Tuesday, July 7. He replaces Santino Fontana.

Based on the 2000 film of the same name, the show tells the tale of a young boy with a dream of being a dancer. The musical features music by Elton John, book and lyrics by Lee Hall, direction by Stephen Daldry, and choreography by Peter Darling. David Alvarez, Tommy Batchelor, Trent Kowalik, and Kiril Kulish alternate in the title role.The principal cast also includes Haydn Gwynne (Mrs. Wilkinson), Gregory Jbara (Dad), and Carole Shelley (Grandma).

Chase most recently appeared on Broadway in The Story of My Life; his numerous other credits include High Fidelity, Rent, Lennon, Aida, Miss Saigon, and The Full Monty.
