William Petersen, star of the hit TV series C.S.I.: Crime Scene Investigation, will star in Trinity Rep's mounting of Conor McPherson's A Dublin Carol, December 1-January 7. The production will be directed by Amy Morton, best known for her work with Chicago's Steppenwolf Theater. No additional casting has been announced.

A Dublin Carol takes place on Christmas Eve, as a man's daughter brings him unexpected news about her mother. McPherson's other plays include Shining City, which opened earlier this week on Broadway, The Good Thief, The Weir, and This Lime Tree Bower.

Petersen appeared on Broadway in the 1996 Roundabout Theatre Company revival of The Night of the Iguana. His other stage crdits include Glengarry Glen Ross, Fool for Love, and Balm in Gilead. His many film credits include Manhunter and To Live and Die in L.A.
