Academy Award winner Rachel Weisz will play Jacqueline Kennedy in the new movie Jackie, according to EW.com. Darren Aronosky will direct the film, which has been written by Noah Oppenheim.

The movie focuses on the days immediately following President Kennedy's assassination and shows the former First Lady as she moves from Dallas through her husband's burial.

The actress recently won an Olivier Award for her portrayal of Blanche DuBois in A Streetcar Named Desire and appeared Off-Broadway in The Shape of Things. She won the Oscar for her work in The Constant Gardner. Weisz and Aronosky, who previously worked together on The Fountain, are engaged.
